Thermodynamics is stronger than economy

A meaningful conference by Climatologist Luca Mercalli yesterday evening. In the bigger contest of climate debate, one of the key point was economic growth and its repercussions on the planet.

We are used to think about a society that “improves” itself by generating more products and services, but little we worry of the impact this careless behavior has on the limited resources at our disposal.

We are used to think about a society that “improves” itself by generating more products and services, but little we worry of the impact this careless behavior has on the limited resources at our disposal. Like Mercalli said, “ Growth isn’t limitless in a limited world ”. To understand how to grow (improve) without growing (impact) is the challenge of our time. Failing to find a solution to this question before 2030 will mean forcing Mother Nature to “clean up” after ourselves, with mass extinction results.

Because thermodynamics is stronger then economy.
